From the following website:
The Chita Peninsula, surrounded by Ise Bay, Chita Bay, and Mikawa Bay, has natural harbors in various locations. In the early modern period, the "Oshu-Mawashun" (a type of trading ship) was active, connecting the peninsula with ports throughout the country. In the Meiji era, the first railway in Aichi Prefecture was laid, and the geographical advantage and infrastructure development led to the rise of various industries. After the war, the completion of the Aichi Canal, the opening of the Chita Peninsula Road and the Minamichita Road, and the advancement of factories along the coast led to a period of industrial maturity. Furthermore, in the Heisei era, Chubu Centrair International Airport (Centrair) opened, taking on a major role as a hub for aviation in Japan.
This book is a photo collection that includes photos of the Chita Peninsula from the Meiji, Taisho, Showa, and Heisei eras, tracing its 100-year history. It is the first publication in the area since the 2012 publication of "Showa of the Chita Peninsula," and it includes many previously unpublished photos. Each photo is accompanied by commentary from writers who know the local area, providing a deep understanding of the region's history and the lives of the people at the time, along with the visuals.
